Last Day of '08..

Make it count!

I rarely go north of the river unless I have to, which is why I let Drew handle this Un-Pleasant Valley footage.

Josh Thompson's blog minute will be up next, then Zach Doelling...so insane. Look forward those, they're just chilling on my hard drive waiting to be seen by all of you.

Oh yeah, and I filmed some stuff for a little last tricks of '08 montage, which will be pretty sick too.

So look forward to all of that goodness coming this week

In the meantime, enjoy tonight and get buck!

Butter Box

Looks like we're getting a break in the weather..! Me, Kevin, JW, Justin, and a few other heads decided to take one of our butter boxes from the shop and load her up and take it to a parking garage since at the time most everything was wet. Lo and behold, we got kicked out pretty quick, so we ended up taking it down the street to a buttery tennis court-which ended up being such a good idea. Here's everyone clownin' on one of the boxes.

Happy Holladayz!! A Year Ago This Week..

So I was looking through my old hard drive trying to see what I had done last year this week, and I came across this parking garage edit with Drew, Jake, and JW (I think I even have a gay little run in it too) from 12/27/07. Good thing I used this Kinks song last year before "What The F*$% Is A Bachinsky" came out! There were like 3 or 4 of these garage montages I never posted anywhere but SkatePerception, so many of you may have not seen this yet. Ah, how things have changed since then. New camera setup, new shop, all kinds of goodies. This was the closest thing to Christmas I had made last year, aside of the Turner 'tage Round 2. The weather isn't too frightful right now, aside of a little snow, and it's actually supposed to be like in the 60s on Friday (wtf??!) So until then, enjoy this little parking garage edit from this time last year and have a great and safe Christmas!!

PS-I'm 85% sure Malto will have the next blog minute.

PSS-I think that I'm going to make this whole "A Year Ago This Week" a regular thing.

Blog Minute-Dan Askew

Most dudes that break the 30 year old mark generally show their age in their skateboarding. With the exception of all of Dan's bonelesses and no comply tricks and other 90s flatground moves, Dan rips like any of us! Although he still grunts every now and then when popping a trick, he still gets the job done. Dan, you're welcome for getting you to do tricks you wouldn't normally do. Everyone is gonna dig this!!

Most of the homies from the Skate house came out on Friday afternoon to help re-finish the mini at the shop. After a lot of pulling out nails and wood Friday night into Saturday afternoon, it was finally (for the most part) done. There's still a lot that needs to be done (coping-wise and ceiling), but for the most part its hella buttery and super solid. But don't ask if you can skate it. Here's a few of us getting absolutely WILD Saturday night.

PS-Kart, I hope this gets you off of my back for a while

Blog Minute-Joseph Lopez

As most people would know, this is only a fraction of what J-Lo can do at RoPo. This is his home turf! There would have been more, but due to inclement weather, his minute was cut short. This is still pretty insane though..enjoy!

R.I.P. Coffee Curb

As some of you may already know, Coffee Curb has been officially deemed unskateable. The original rail next to the ledge has been extended further to make the ledge nearly impossible to skate. This is a tragedy to many, as well as myself...RIP!

Blog Minute-Aaron Smith

A-Smith is hands down my favorite photog ever. If you don't know, he's an intern at Transworld (his blog here), and when he's not in KC, he's either in Cali covering all of the top events, or back in Georgia at the Savannah Art school. I've known A-Smith since I was like a freshman in high school. He'd always be killing it at OP, doing crooks all the way down the kinked rail. We both made apperances in our first skate vid too, Lights Camera Skateboarding. Who could forget Rough Copy too? Haha, oh to be young again. So this blog minute was actually quite trying. The first day it was cloudy and super shitty, and started raining after 10 mins. It ended up snowing, so the second day we went back it was super wet and shitty everywhere. Finally, the last day we thought everything would be good and dry, which for the most part it was, except for the main ramp you go down was out of the sun all morning, and was covered in ice. So being the dedicated filmer that I am, I swept and dried up that bitch like it was nothing. A funny story about the ender-Asmith was like "Hey Brian I'd watch out I'm just gonna jump on it real quick". So I back up and don't bother filming. Next thing I know, he jumps on to nosegrind and rolls away first try. SWEET! And he didn't want to do it again. Oh well, let the ender speak for itself. Also noteable, Rod makes a guest appearance for the ender, starting an epic back to back! Enjoy!

Blog Minute-Rod Harper (and then some!)

Golly gee, the blog minutes are just stacking up in my hard drive! Rod's has been handled for about a week, but I decided to wait a little bit to post it. The anticipation is what makes it ten times better, right??! I sneak previewed this at the skate house for ASmith's birthday party on Friday, so some have seen this. But for those who haven't, boy you're in for a treat. I try not to be bias, but this is undoubtedly the best blog minute by far. However, J-Lo filmed a bunch for his, and is already over a minute..can he overtake Rod? Alright, I'll shutup. Here's Rod's amazing minute and some change at his and Joseph's home turf, RoPo.

Blog Minute-Rod Harper from Brian Ondrejka on Vimeo.

I also wanted to share this clip of first, Malto 5050ing this rail first try, and then Lovell and this power-tripped dude. What you see is only a fraction of what really went down. As Ryan and I were both getting in the car, the dude straight up threatened Lovell's life. More words were exchanged after I pulled out, and Lovell left the guy with a parting gift of a lugey all over the guy's truck.

Lovell & Friend from Brian Ondrejka on Vimeo.

Not done with this post yet! Just wanted to share a photo ASmith took of all of the homies in the bottoms this past weekend.

That's all for now! Get psyched for J-Lo, ASmith, Wes, Max, and Malto. Coming sooner than later! All in the works.

30 Degree Blog Minute-Alex Stimpfel

Blog minutes coming in like crazy this week! And I've only been back in KC since Sunday night.

Okay, so this one isn't exactly a minute. I've been pretty consistent about all of them being exactly a minute or a minute and some change. However, some folks' blog minutes should really be blog HOURS. 2 1/2 tapes this afternoon for 50 seconds of footage. Fuck the cold weather already. But really though, I won't complain until there's snow on the ground...knock on wood. Coming next Monday..DEFREECE!

Switch or nollie anyone?

Milwaukee Sessions

Like I said in the post below, I hit up Cream City with another filmer I know and his crew. Most cool, fun, did I mention consistent?, group of dudes to skate with. We also got to street skate the next day which was, as you'll see, pretty damn insane. Looks like I got out of Milwaukee just in time though, as the snow warnings kept coming in the day I left. Enjoy this!
